The Internet was young when we started in 2000. People who made websites typically had either great design skills or good programming skills. That was reflected in the website we saw which either seemed to look great and do nothing or do cool stuff but you couldn’t understand how to use them or did not want to look at them.
The Spiffy Web Team focuses primarily on helping clients use DotNetNuke better and operates as a business unit of Affinigent, Inc.
The philosophy behind Affinigent is to combine Design, Programming and Business Strategy as part of website development. The first part of doing this was to create an internal work environment where designers and programmers were encouraged to work together and felt comfortable doing so. As the workplace evolved, both designers and programmers soon realized that the work they were creating as part of the team was significantly better than what they could create on their own.
The clients we worked for were generally businesses and often very entrepreneurial businesses at that. The work we were doing helped everyone on the team become sensitive to real business needs that could be addressed by great web tools. Our interactions with clients also honed our skills at integrating technology considerations into fundamental Business strategy concepts.

From the very first websites developed by Affinigent, there has been a desire to create sites in a way that clients will be able to easily manage content on their own. In the early days that meant customized .ASP pages with an administrative interface. Soon those efforts were redirected toward the open source .Net project know as DotNetNuke. Affinigent’s first commercial DotNetNuke (DNN) websites were built in the version 2.x framework. Today, more that 90% of all websites created by Affinigent utilize the DotNetNuke environment.
